The VIDYA Foundation (TVF) is a team of volunteers from the slums of South Delhi whose parents are or were daily laborers and residents of the slums. These volunteers are helping their fellow slum residents/students with the intent to uplift them socially and economically through education, thus transforming and impacting lives with their selfless and remarkable contribution. Most of these volunteers were once students of TVF, have completed their college education from Delhi University, and are now well-placed and working in reputed MNCs in Delhi and Gurgaon.
In India there has been a greater awakening with regards to the importance of Education in the life of every child. But when faced with realities of life many from the lower strata of society are still quitting their studies not realizing the greater implied cost of their decision on their future. As per the UDISE+ 2021-22 data the dropout rate is 1.5% in primary(1st-5th), 3% in upper primary (6th to 8th) and at the secondary level of education (9th to 10th), which is the a decisive point in the life of any student it is the highest 12.6%.

The VIDYA Foundation envisions a world where every child, regardless of their social and economic background, has access to quality education and the opportunity to fulfil their potential.
All human beings are of equal worth. Therefore, the poor have the same inherent dignity, and rights that deserve our protection.
Every child has a right to an education that will give them the opportunity to reach their potential, earn a living and grow in self-esteem.
The poor deserve the chance to improve their financial status and their quality of life, and to break free from the cycle of poverty.
A total of 1,171 students from the slums were enrolled across the five SMCs. Among them, 117 students passed 7th grade, 109 advanced to 8th grade, and 142 progressed to 9th grade. Additionally, 178 students passed 11th grade, while 284 students cleared their board exams.
Regular classes in English, Math, and Computer Science were given every day at the SMC. A library and study space were provided. An online subscription to educational portals was also available throughout the year.
More than 2000 one-on-one counseling sessions were conducted. The counseling sessions focused on the importance of education and how educating their children can transform their lives, as well as their role and responsibility in helping their kids to study.
